International relations constitute one of the most critical areas of the university's activities. The university consistently implements international agreements with numerous foreign higher education institutions to conduct joint scientific research, professional retraining, book development and publication, acquisition of educational literature and modern technology, and faculty professional development.
The university maintains cooperation agreements with over 45 universities in the Russian Federation, 18 universities in the European Union, 15 universities in the Republic of Uzbekistan, and 8 universities in the People's Republic of China, as well as the USA and other foreign institutions. Mutually beneficial partnerships are actively developed within the framework of these agreements.
Since the beginning of the academic year, virtual classes have been conducted across various faculties by professors from the I.T. Trubilin Kuban State Agrarian University. These sessions are scheduled to continue through the end of the 2025-2026 academic year and will be expanded to other faculties. On December 17, 2025, initiated by the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and the University of Innovation and Digital Technologies of Tajikistan to cooperate on establishing a digital government system in the Republic of Tajikistan.
Under the international "Seeds for the Future" program supported by Huawei, Jovidon Kulobiev, a 3rd-year Information Technology Software student, completed an internship in Dongguan and Shenzhen, China, from August 2 to August 9, 2025. Additionally, as part of the EU "Team Europe Initiative on Digital Connectivity in Central Asia," university lecturer Ahmadjon Boboev attended international training at the e-Governance Academy in Estonia from November 16 to November 21, 2025.
The university is a partner in the EU ERASMUS+ project "Open Food Innovation University (OFINU)." Within this project, 10 faculty members participated in module training seminars at universities in Latvia, Slovakia, and Uzbekistan, earning international certificates. Laboratory equipment worth 280,000 TJS was provided to the university through this project and is currently utilized by students and staff. Furthermore, from October 14 to October 17, 2025, a training seminar featuring 3 specialists from Latvia and 2 from Slovakia was held at the university. Throughout 2025, more than 10 foreign experts from the Russian Federation, Latvia, Slovakia, India, Iran, and Uzbekistan were involved in the university's teaching and training processes.
In collaboration with the Ivanovo State Polytechnic University, 30 researchers and doctoral students were granted access to that university's electronic library. A joint research project titled "Development of Core Technology and Functional Lactic Acid Bacteria Fermentation Products to Improve Juice Nutrition" has been developed and submitted in cooperation with Shihezi University (China).
